Jewelry Care

Trollbeads is part of the Danish design heritage, renowned for its simplicity, functionality and quality. Design lies at the heart of everything we create, and we work only with the finest materials and craftsmanship.
We take great care in selecting our materials. Our jewellery is made to be worn in everyday life, and with the right care, it will retain its beauty and shine for years to come.
Follow these simple guidelines to keep your jewellery looking its very best.
Caring for your silver jewelry

When not wearing your silver bracelets, beads, earrings or rings, we recommend storing them separately in small fabric pouches – or ideally in acid-free, airtight bags or boxes. This helps prevent scratches and slows down the natural oxidation process. You can also store them in a Trollbeads jewellery box.
If you wear silver beads on a gold chain, please note that the silver may leave slight marks. These can easily be removed by gently polishing the chain with a suitable cloth.
Regular, gentle polishing with a silver cloth will help maintain the lustre of your Trollbeads jewellery – a simple way to keep it clean and radiant.
Caring for your gold and gold plated jewelry
Wash your jewelry in mild soap and rinse well with water. Dry thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth.
Avoid jewelry cleaners and antibacterial soaps which might make your gold- plated jewelry tarnish more quickly. Anything plated will eventually tarnish with time and wear. Store your jewelry separately in small cloth bags, or even better in acid-free, airtight plastic bags or boxes. This will help you to avoid, as far as possible, unnecessary scratches and too rapid oxidation.
Remember that all Trollbeads silver jewelry can be custom ordered in gold. If you are interested in this service, please contact our customer service.
Caring for your glass beads

Clean your glass beads by gently polishing them with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Avoid all chemical cleaning products and liquids, as these may contain substances that can damage the glass.
We recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, especially in chlorinated water. Avoid exposure to hot water and seawater.
To preserve the surface, avoid contact with perfume, creams, soap, cosmetics and hairspray.
Caring for your gemstone beads
Clean your gemstones using mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly, dry carefully and polish with a soft cloth.
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray and similar products, as some stones are naturally porous and may be affected.
Gemstones are natural materials, and each one is entirely unique. Variations in colour, inclusions and structure are part of their natural beauty and origin.
Some stones are softer by nature and may develop a softer, less defined surface over time.
Caring for your pearls
Pearls are delicate natural materials and may vary in colour and shape.
Avoid contact with makeup, perfume, cosmetics and hairspray, as well as acidic substances such as vinegar, lemon and chlorine.
Clean gently in mild soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Always store pearl jewellery separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratches.
Caring for your copper jewelry
To keep your copper jewellery looking its best, clean it occasionally in lukewarm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
When not in use, store it in an airtight bag to help prevent tarnishing.
If tarnishing occurs, it can be removed using a mixture of vinegar and salt. Gently rub the mixture onto the surface, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Alternatively, lemon juice can also be used.
Caring for your leather jewelry
For everyday care, gently wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any stains promptly.
For deeper cleaning, use a mild leather cleaner or gentle soap. Apply only the foam with a soft cloth and avoid soaking or scrubbing.
Finish by drying with a soft cloth and applying a leather conditioner to maintain suppleness.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
